Goodyear Welt — a shoe made to be passed down
There are three ways to assemble a shoe. The quickest is to glue the sole to the upper. The finest is to stitch it, using the Goodyear method. This is the path we have chosen for the vast majority of our models.
Goodyear welting is the oldest and most demanding method. Where a glued shoe is discarded once the sole wears out, a Goodyear shoe can be resoled. It can be repaired, maintained, and carried through the years — often through decades. The sole is not fixed to the upper: it is joined by a stitch that a cobbler can undo and redo.
This construction calls for considerable work: dozens of pieces, dozens of hands, more than a hundred steps for a single pair. It is slow. That is precisely what gives it its value.
The result: a more resilient shoe that molds to the foot over time and stays with you far beyond a single season.
Goodyear welting is not a technical detail. It is a promise of longevity.

Shipping free from €150. Below that threshold, a flat €15 fee. GLS delivery, single rate across France and the entire European Union.
Express & international
For express delivery or destinations outside the European Union, we offer FedEx shipping on request. Rate provided at order time, based on destination and required lead time.
